Question 2: Girija, Yatin, and Zubin are partners sharing profits and losses in the ratio of 5:3:2. They admit Suresh into partnership and give him 1/5th share of profits.
Determine the new profit-sharing ratio.
Solution 2:
Suresh Share in Profit = 1/5
Remaining Share = 1-1/5 = 4/5
Remaining share of profit would be shared by old partners in their profit sharing ratio.
Girija New Share = 4/5*5/10 = 20/50
Yatin New Share = 4/5*3/10 = 12/50
Zubin New Share = 4/5*2/10 = 8/50
After making base equal, New Profit Sharing Ratio of all partners would be:
20/50:12/50:8/50:10/50 or 20:12:8:10.
New Profit Sharing Ratio = 10:6:4:5
