Strategies on How to Present Answers in Board Exams
Change Accordingly
Always be mindful of the paper you are doing. By that, I mean you should not give much importance to presentation in practical papers like Accountancy and Math.
Accountancy and Math are those subjects in which presentation doesn’t make as much impact as it does in subjects like Business Studies, English, and Economics.
Similarly, if you are low on time forget everything about the presentation, just focus on completing the paper at that time.
Make the First 2 Pages Your Best
This is the best thing I can tell related to the Presentation. While writing answers in your answer sheet, write the first two pages like the checker could find no error in that.
First see what are the questions that no one can cut even half marks in, then attempt those questions first at the starting with all those tips mentioned above.
When the checker sees your first two pages with great presentation and no errors, he/she will assume you to be a topper and more likely check the rest of your paper without much reading.
Gel Pen
Using a gel pen has multiple benefits. It gives you good handwriting compared to a ball pen, increases your writing speed, and easy to write.
One thing to remember while purchasing a gel pen is that it should be waterproof. If your pen ink spreads in the answer sheet, your presentation will be ruined.
Margin Lines
Most students nowadays draw margin lines but they ignore one thing. They do not draw margin lines with pencils, yes you have to draw margin lines with a pencil.
Lines always look nicer when drawn with a pencil as compared to a pen and remember to draw margin lines on both sides of the sheets as follows. If the margin is already drawn in the sheets, you don’t need to draw that again.
Answers Heading
How you write the heading of the answers also matters a lot. These little things make up the first impression for the checker and in total can increase your marks.
You should write the answers heading as “Answer of Question No. 1”. Underline this heading two times and write this heading with a black gel pen. When the checker sees it, he/she will assume you as a topper student.
Underline Important Points
You must always focus on how to make it easy for the checker to check your answer sheet. If you underline important points in a big answer, the checker will see that first and quickly give you marks and will go on to the next answer.
Underline with a black gel pen instead of a blue pen or a pencil.
Write Section Name
This point automatically assumes that you must be doing the answers one after the other. You can do Section B first but remember to make a sequence like 25, 24, 23, etc., and then go on to doing Section D like 32, 33, 34, etc.
Always remember that there must be an order to your answer. If you are doing Section C, then first complete Section C after that you can go to Section D or A.
If you don’t know the answer to that particular section you are doing, leave space for that question, but don’t make the mistake of doing random questions like 1, 4, 20, etc.
Why Presentation is more important than Knowledge in Exams?
Neat Handwriting
No one can change their handwriting overnight but one thing everyone can do is to write neatly. Writing neatly makes a good impression in the mind of the checker and he/she will get more marks.
Sometimes, in your answer sheet you may write the wrong spelling of words, so instead of cutting it so dark just strike it with one or two lines.
Always Write Basis in Table
Make it a habit to write the basis in a table. It shows you have deeply learned that topic and it would make it easy for the checker to understand what you have written.
Remember to draw lines for the table with a pencil and write columns and rows headings with a black pen.
Use Tactics
Just suppose a question comes up for 6 marks in Business Studies and you only know four points for its answer.
Never write the answer to questions like this in a paragraph, it will ruin your presentation badly. Instead, first, write the four points you know correctly in good and neat handwriting.
After doing that, just change the second point or mold it in a way that would seem different and write it as a fifth point. Similarly do it with the third point and write it as the sixth point.
If your presentation through this point of the paper is good enough, and the checker is having a good impression of your paper, he would rarely read all the points and easily give you 6 marks.
Conclusion
I have used all the points mentioned above and still use them to score good marks in college. Doing your paper with a good presentation makes a lot of difference, just try it once and see the difference.
Always remember that presentation is an art, if you are good at it you can score high marks without much effort.
