About SOL

SOL means a school of open learning. The good news is that SOL is a part of Delhi University. If you do graduate from SOL, you will get a degree from the University of Delhi.

In SOL, you have the advantage of not going to college regularly. You can graduate without going to college and on the other hand doing something on your own.

SOL is UGC and DG-approved. The degree of SOL is also internationally valid. It provides diverse courses from different fields as follows:

• Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
• Commerce
• Science

Courses in SOL

Program

Program courses include all those subjects that you have studied in classes 11 and 12 like Accountancy, English, Business Studies, Economics, etc. if you are from a commerce stream. You will have the course B.com under the program in SOL.

Most students choose program courses as they are easy to pass like Ba.

Honors

In addition to the program, if you have any one subject you had very much interest in your stream, you can choose Honors if you are from the arts stream and like to study Political Science, you can take the course BA Honours in Political Science.

Honors courses are generally done by students who want to specialize in a particular subject like History, Maths, etc.

SOL Admission Process

Although admission in SOL for 2024 has not been started yet, you can follow the steps given below to apply when the admission process starts:

• Search on Google ‘SOL’, and after which you will see the Delhi University website on top, visit that website.
• You will see different options, but you have to click on ‘Online Admissions Portal’, under this option click “UG Admission Portal”.
• Then under this, choose the option ‘click here for new registration’.
• You have to fill in your details and a captcha, then click on register.
• After registering, follow where the website takes you like uploading documents and last paying fee.
• After paying the fee, you will get the fee receipt and an identity card, you have to print these two.
• Then you have to visit South Campus Vishvavidyalay in Delhi to take books.

There is no entrance exam for getting admission to SOL. You may know that if you want to get into regular college at Delhi University, then you must take the CUET exam.

Many students prefer to not go to college due to many reasons but they want to get the graduation degree. SOL provides students with this opportunity.

SOL provides undergraduate and postgraduate courses and lakhs of students get degrees in these courses from SOL.

You can get admission to SOL through direct registration. After CBSE has given the result, you can register for SOL admission. Only after regular college admission, you can apply for SOL.

How to Apply for SSC CHSL 2024 Online?

Expected Date for SOL Registration

You can get admission in SOL no matter what your board is in class 12. As stated above, you can apply for SOL admission process after CBSE has announced the result of Class 12.

Since the result of CBSE class 12 is expected to be released in July, the admission process for SOL will start after that.

Undergraduate courses admission in SOL are expected to happen in June-July whereas postgraduate courses admission are going to happen in July-August.

Apart from this, one thing candidates appearing for SOL exams must remember is the choice of subjects. Many students get fail just because of choosing the wrong subjects in their courses.

So, you should always pay enough attention on going through the syllabus of subjects offered so that you don’t have to do much hard work to get pass.
