Scoring high in CUET is only half the battle. Every year, Delhi University rejects thousands of students during the CSAS counseling process simply because their documents are incorrect or mismatched. Unlike NTA correction windows, DU rarely gives you enough time to fix a faulty document once college allocations begin. If a top college like Hansraj asks you to fix a spelling error in your Aadhar card within 24 hours, it’s practically impossible.
To make sure your seat is safe, you need to prepare this exact list of documents for Delhi University Admission 2026 right now.
Topics Discussed
1. Class 10th Marksheet
This is your primary proof of birth and identity. Take it out today and verify three things: your exact name spelling, your parents’ names, and your Date of Birth (DOB). Every single document you submit next must match the details on this marksheet perfectly.
2. Class 12th Marksheet
Whether you have the physical hard copy from your school or the official DigiLocker version, keep it ready. Just like your 10th marksheet, double-check that the spellings align perfectly without a single missing letter.
3. Aadhar Card (or valid ID)
Most students use their Aadhar Card as their primary ID. Match the name, parents’ names, and DOB on your Aadhar with your 10th marksheet. Even a minor difference (like an “A” instead of an “E”, or a missing surname) can get your form rejected. If there is a mismatch, go to an Aadhar center and get it updated immediately while you still have time.
4. TC, Migration, and Character Certificates
While Delhi University might not ask for all of these immediately for online verification, many state universities (like IP University) strictly require your Transfer Certificate, Migration Certificate, and Character Certificate. Collect these from your school so you are prepared for all backup options.
5. Category Certificates (OBC-NCL & EWS)
This is where maximum rejections happen. If you are applying under the OBC-NCL or EWS categories, your certificate must be issued on or after March 31, 2026. Additionally, for OBC students, the certificate must be at the Central Level, not just the state level. If your certificate is outdated, apply for a renewal today. Without a valid certificate, you will be pushed into the General category, losing your reservation benefits and facing much higher competition. (Note: General category students do not need any category certificate).
6. Quota and ECA/Sports Certificates
If you are applying through the CW, PwBD, Sports, or ECA quotas, gather all your relevant proofs. For sports quota applicants, ensure you have your original National or State-level certificates clearly stating your position (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.). You will need these ready to prove your eligibility before the physical trials begin.
Don’t wait for the CUET results to start sorting this out. Cross-check your spellings, apply for renewals if needed, and start researching your college preference lists today.
