What to do After UFM CASE in DU?

In this article, I will talk about the UFM Case of Delhi University. We will discuss what is the rules, policies, and what to do after the UFM exam.

What is UFM?

Many students don’t know about UFM in Delhi University. UFM means unfair means. In DU and other universities, there is a concept of UFM when you are caught cheating in an exam or doing something that creates violence in an exam.

In this scenario, the invigilator present there can drop a UFM case on you. In DU, the case of UFM is different from IGNOU. DU’s UFM is very much strict.

At Delhi University, most students are caught having mobile phones in their pockets, having chits in their pockets, or talking badly with the teacher. So, UFM is charged by invigilators when they catch them cheating.

What to do After UFM CASE in DU?

You can check in two ways if you are charged with UFM:

1. If your answer sheet is taken by the invigilator and they gave you a new sheet.
2. If your answer sheet is taken by a person who has come from outside then it is a confirmed UFM.

When UFM is charged, then the mobile phone you have or any cheating material you carry is taken by the staff present there.

Then a chargesheet is created at the same time, they make you sign that. They also take a photo of your admit card and take your answer sheet.

In return, they give you a new answer sheet. This new answer sheet is of no worth now as you have already been charged with UFM.

What happens if they take your phone under UFM?

When you are caught with a phone in the exam center, they take your phone with them. They told students to take this phone after one month in the north campus in the examination branch specifically the UFM branch.

On the day, you have been charged with UFM, after 15-30 days then students receive a mail in which you receive a pdf carrying their name, roll number, date, center name, room number, paper code, and what you were doing in that exam.

When you receive this email, you are asked to reply to this email. Then, you have to reply to this email. After that go to the exam centre in north campus and tell them that you have received the notice mail and they will give you your mobile phone.

Remember that they will not give you a mobile unless you receive this UFM mail. The day you receive the mail, you should visit North Campus as soon as possible to get your mobile phone.

In addition to replying to the mail, you also have to be present on the committee. In that committee, you have to tell your side, why you did that and request them to give you the least punishment.

Clauses in UFM

At Delhi University, there are two clauses:

1. Clause A: When you are found guilty, then your exam in which you are caught is canceled.
2. Clause B: When you don’t attend the committee, and don’t give any reply, then you are put under this claim. Under this clause, all your exams for that semester are canceled and put under UFM.

Problem with UFM in DU

This happens especially with DU students (SOL and Regular). Suppose a student got UFL in one exam then in the next semester, he prepares for that exam and gives that exam. But the problem comes when he/she doesn’t receive the result of the exam.

Again UFM is charged in that paper. This means that in DU, to remove UFM, you have to talk with them again and again. So, it is very difficult to remove it once you have UFM.

Solution of UFM in DU

To resolve these problems related to UFM, DU has made a tracking portal on the Delhi University website. You can track there your UFM case.

I recommend to students that if they are charged with UFM, try to get Clause A. If you didn’t receive the result of the exam in the next semester, immediately visit the campus and tell them your whole scenario.

Conclusion

I would advise you firstly not do any type of cheating on exams because once you are charged with UFM then you are going to face so much problem removing that.

One thing is definite once you are charged with UFM, you will surely get punished. Either you will get Clause A punishment or Clause B punishment. Therefore, I would suggest not to do cheating in exams especially if you are in Delhi University.
