Choices

After the 10th class, there are only three choices for us which are Science, Commerce, and Arts. But after we complete class 12th there are endless choices in our life.

What I have observed in my friends is that they try to copy people if everyone is doing CA, they will also start doing CA. When I asked my one friend why you are doing CA when you know you can’t study for that properly. He said it’s better to do something than nothing.

Well, its a nice approach but I will recommend doing something in which fewer people are traveling and you have an interest in. My above friend quit CA after 2 years when he failed twice in the foundation of CA. So, I will recommend you to not to follow the crowd (your classmates and friends) after class 12th.

Do something unique like I started doing blogging after class 12th and on the other hand I was also doing college. You should try to learn as many skills as possible after class 12th.

College Choice

To be straightforward, according to my experience college is only for rich-class guys and those who are not very serious for their career.

Now, why I am saying this? The reason is that whatever you learn there is actually of no use. I mean there is only theoretical learning by teachers which makes you dumb and a parrot.

Apart from that, if you don’t have money you can’t even hang out with friends in college. You will see many students with iPhones there. Truly speaking, college is for them.

But college does one good thing which is personality grooming. You will get to know how to talk to people if you join societies and groups. You will realize there are really a lot of fishes in the sea.

Placements Point of View

If you are someone who has a plan that after completing college, you will get a college placement, let me tell you something about that too.

In my college, the average placement is around 4 lakhs per annum. Even if you are from SRCC or Hansraj, the average placement would be around 6-7 lakhs. And there is also no confirmation that you will surely get the placements.

So, if you are from a well-to-do family, you should choose to go to college. You will learn about the world more during this time, and if you have an internship, grades, and skills you will also get a placement at the end.

But if you are from a lower middle-class family, who can’t afford to go college but still you want to, I will recommend you not to.

Because, when you will go there, you will realize you can’t hang out with friends because of your low budget, the studies system is totally theoretical and of literally no use. In the best case scenario, you will get a job of 6-7 lakhs p.a. but if you don’t get that, wouldn’t it be a waste of time for you?

Why did I go to college?

I went to college because I didn’t want to do a job. I knew from the start that if I didn’t go to regular college, my parents would pressure me to do the job which I didn’t want to so I thought it would be best to do college and do something of my own part-time.

The Best Scenario

According to me, this is the best scenario. If you are in a dilemma to go to college or not, you should do it.

Instead of doing any professional course, choose a college and start going there. But don’t give college your 100 percent instead start something of your own side by side. Invest in yourself at that time and learn skills.

Real-life Examples

There are a lot of people who went to college and side by side did something of their own. When the side hustle started making money they even dropped out of college. Steve Jobs, Sandeep Maheshwari, and Bill Gates are great examples of this.

Bill Gates started Microsoft when he was in college. When he couldn’t afford to go to college and work at Microsoft at the same time, he decided to drop out of Harvard College.

Sandeep Maheshwari was doing Photography side by side with his college. When he started making more than 20,000 Rs. from photography monthly, he dropped out of Kirori Mal College in 3rd year.

Steve Jobs went to college for 6 months, but after that, he realized he could not afford the fees of the college, so he dropped out of Reed College. After dropping out, he learned about calligraphy which helped him in making fonts for Macintosh.

Final Conclusion

Sandeep Maheshwari has said, that if you are learning from your bad experiences then it is good but if you are not learning from your good experiences then it is bad.

After reading the above blog, you can make your own judgment. One thing I would recommend is whatever you choose to do in life, it should be your own decision whether right or wrong.
