Today, we will discuss how many marks a student should score to pass the internal assessment.
SOL Internal Assessment Passing Marks
Problems that students are facing include scoring fewer marks in the internal assessments. Some students are scoring 60 marks and some are scoring 40 marks, but no one knows how many marks are needed to get passed in the internal assessment.
Well, SOL hasn’t issued the passing criteria for internal assessments till now. But, we can consider 40% as passing marks for DU, although it is lower than that at 36%.
The internal assessment is a of 70 marks comprising 35 questions. Then, you should try to score 40 above in the internal assessment to be on the safer side.
What if we score less than 40 Marks in the Internal Assessment?
Apart from internal assessment, you also have to give theory examination which is more important than internal assessments. The theory examination is 90 marks whereas the internal assessment is 70 marks.
In case, you get below 40 marks like 20, 25, etc. then you can give one more attempt. If you are again scoreless on the next attempt, then the only thing you can do is focus on your theory examination and give your projects and assignments on time.
Net grading is given by the SOL based on the total obtained from adding internal assessment marks, theory examination marks, projects and assignment marks, etc.
The point is that internal assessment is not that important. It is solely taken by SOL because of the New Education Policy 2024. If you have not scored good marks in it, focus on your theory examination, which is more important than internal assessments.

Important things related to Internal Assessment
- You can give an internal assessment in two attempts.
- The attempt in which you score more marks will be considered by SOL.
- You have the choice to give all assessments in one day or one assessment in one day.
- The time limit for the internal assessment is from 4 May 2024 to 18 April 2024 after that you cannot give the internal assessment.
- If you are unable to login to the portal, due to any reason try forgetting your password.
