How to Apply for SSC CHSL 2024 Online

Here are the steps to apply for SSC CHSL 2024 online:
- First visit the official website of SSC CHSL: ssc.gov.in
- On the website, click on login/register, if you have already registered to fill in your username and password, if not then click register now.
- After you press register, you have to fill in many personal details like your name, aadhar card, 10th class details, etc. Remember to put the exact name of your parents in the application form as it is in your 10th class mark sheet.
- After filling personal details, you will get your registration number and password in your email and phone number.

- Now you have to sign in by filling in the registration number and password you have gotten in your email/messages.
- You have to create a new password now and fill in additional information like address, nationality, etc.
- At last, you have to fill out the declaration by ticking the box and registering.

After filling out the declaration page, you will see something like this.

From here, you have two options as shown above. You have to choose the first option named a combined higher secondary level (10+2).
Once you click apply, you will have to again fill and upload some documents like a class 12 mark sheet and a photo of your signature.
At last, pay the application fee which is Rs.100. You can pay that through various options like net banking, UPI, etc.

This vacancy is for 10+2 pass candidates. Here are the important details related to this vacancy:

Pay Scale
- Lower Division Clerk: This vacancy would have a pay level of Rs.19,900 to Rs.63,200.
- Data Entry Operator (DEO): This vacancy would have a salary of Rs.25,500 to Rs.81,100 if you are in Level 4. Level 5 would have a salary of Rs.29,200 to Rs.92,300.
- Data Entry Operator: The salary for this vacancy would be Rs.25,500 to Rs.81,100 for Level 4.
Total Vacancies
There are a total of 3,712 vacancies this year. It is double the number of vacancies compared to last year. The interesting thing is that SSC CHSL would include all the ministries like the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, etc.
Age Limit
Age will be calculated as of 1 August 2024. The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum age is 27 years. If you are from SC/ST category, you will get an age relaxation of 5 years, if OBC then an age relaxation of 3 years, if PwBD (unreserved) then an age relaxation of 10 years.
In other words, if you were born before 2 August 1997 or born after 1 August 2006, then you are not eligible to apply except if you belong to categories like SC, ST, OBC, etc.
Essential Educational Qualifications
The majority of the vacancies demand for class 12 qualification except some vacancies with some special requirements like class 12 qualification with Science stream only.
Application Fee
The fee payable is Rs.100/-. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM are exempt from payment of the application fee.
The fee can be paid through BHIM UPI, net banking, or by Visa.
Scheme of Examination
There would be a computer-based examination. First, there would be a Tier-1 test, then Tier-2, and lastly, a typing test after which merit is made of candidates.

Typing Test
Typing test will happen only if you clear the tier-2 test. You must have a speed of at least 30-35 in either Hindi or English to pass the typing test. You can attain this speed easily if you practice daily for one month.
